“Yilan has high precipitation, and kumquat grows very well.”
Because of its oval shape and golden color, people in Yilan refer to kumquat as “Golden Date.” Yilan’s climate is wet and cool, and the region near the mountains provides the most ideal environment for kumquat trees to grow. Yilan’s famed local delicacy, kumquat cake, has long been a popular snack in Taiwan. Agrioz Candied Fruit Museum is a pioneer in Taiwan’s candied fruit industry, and adopts Western processing methods, drying fruits with hot air, to produce candied fruits free of saccharin, food colorings, flavorings, and preservatives.
