Among all the species in Taiwan, Sanxing spring onion has the longest, and most delicate white part, giving it unique spicy fragrance and sweetness.
Sanxing spring onion grows in an area at the top of the alluvial fan in Yilan, with sufficient rain and moisture, clean water, and rich soil. Spring onion prefers wet surroundings, but rots easily in water. Here, the gaps between sand and rocks underneath the surface are large, and water drains easily. The west wind from Xueshan Mountain Range prevents the roots from rotting.
Spring Onion Museum utilizes local strengths to promote food products made of Sanxing spring onion, offering souvenirs with the most iconic Yilan flavor.
