During the Japanese Colonial period, Baimi community was a major mineral hub that produced limestone, accounting for 80% of Taiwan’s production.
To protect the environment and coexist with mineral processing industry, Baimi community carries out community building through revitalization of the clogs industry, forging community consensus.
Now, Baimi community has shifted from clogs industry to ecological restoration, planting new vitality and outlook for the community, and continuing the gentle revolution of community life and industrial development.
