Chen Huei-mei runs the “Blessing Flower” at home, showcasing the philosophy of “twined happiness.”
Lin Wu Ironworks, the three-generation gong-making family, uses iron hammer to make copper gongs, as “hundreds of tunes are set by just one hammer.”
Chen Chung-tsang founded the very first art museum in Yilan, and participated in the founding of Yilan Museum Family.
Datong and Nan’ao are two indigenous townships of the Atayal people. Atayal people are very skillful rattan weavers. All the “heavenly weavings of the indigenous people” can be seen in Datong and Nan’ao.
Founder Lai of CCCB Coral Museum has long investigated the marine culture of Nanfang’ao; he is also a devoted Buddhist. By combining the two, his coral sculpture exhibits the essence of the Buddhist belief.
Jietoufen community in Yuanshan Township is hometown of Taiwanese opera. The rural village has no official stage or performance space, and the opening act where performers run backwards has become an important element of Taiwanese opera in this area.
